It was the first week of a new semester, first Chemical Product Design & Development (CPDD) lesson of Semester 2. We had a quick introduction to CPDD and our lecturer soon went through the module overview with us as well as some of the ground rules and expectation of this module.

Thereafter, we had a quick recap on how to use the Fusion360 software since we already had some knowledge on how to use it as we were introduced to this software last semester in our ICPD module. In order for us to re-familiarise ourselves to Fusion360, we had to create and design our own keyring with the aid of Fusion360, just like what we did in ICPD last semester.

With the help of the video instructions provided on Black Board, I was able to create with my own keyring with my name and my favourite Pochacco on it!

SUMMARISED STEPS TO CREATE & DESIGN A KEYRING:

1. Create sketch and select plane. Create a rectangle of 65x25mm.

2. Fillet all four sides by 5mm.

3. Create a circle and a text box. Type in desired text.

FINALISED KEYRING

I used to find it difficult to use Fusion360 but now after a few trials and watching many video tutorials, I think I have improved and have gained better knowledge about Fusion360. So next, I will remember what I have learnt in this lesson and apply it in the future when I need to create a prototype of a specific product.

Overall, it was fun to play around with Fusion360 again. With this new skill acquired, It is definitely beneficial for my capstone project since we will be required to create a prototype of our chemical product before we actually make the actual product. This allows us to visualize how our chemical product is going to turn out so that we can amend the design of our product if we think that there is something lacking.

To conclude, Fusion 360 may be quite difficult to use at first but once I get the hang of it, I am sure that I would be able to create something more than a simple keyring. Hence, I can't wait to see what more we can do with Fusion360!

Thank you for reading my blog 💐

Stay tune for the next one! (>‿◠)✌
